JASON POCHAPSKY

Jason Pochapsky is a musician, tailor, fashion designer, modular synthesizer builder and performer, based in Bangkok, Thailand. Roman and Jason discuss his early years in Canada and Jason’s eventual moves overseas and into new areas of proficiency and expertise. Roman and Jason listen to some of Jason’s modular synthesizer songs (on Euro rack configuration) on SoundCloud and YouTube, like Drowz and Take a Bath with Plastic. He also performs under the names of Tractor JP and Mr. Svarshik. Jason shows several of his jackets, some with names, like Sugar Baby. Pork Chop, Mr. Stampede and The Bushmeat Jacket. Jason, Roman and the crew head to the Wongwian Yai part of Bangkok, where Jason offers a tour of his favorite fashion supply stores and the two sit and talk in café/fashion school called MHA and the Kafe.

KOSUM BOY

Kosum Boy is a Thailand born and raised musician based in Bangkok.  Roman and Kosum Boy discuss his early years in and around the Bangkok area and how he developed his sound. The two discuss the songs Alone, Wen Ya Round, Mama’s Boy, Rock N’ Love N’ Sound, Under Flower, Pup Pa Dub, Duab Duab Danceand more, which can be found on SoundCloud and YouTube. They also discuss his time in the Maison of Artists recording studio and hitting the charts on Cat Radio. Kosum Boy, Roman and the crew head to the recently opened Blueprint Live House in the A Square complex on Sukhumvit Soi 26, on the Rama IV end of the street, just next to the Flow House, where Kosum Boy plays a live show to a full house, where he introduces the new song Moon Ride.

NATHAN LYNCH

Nathan Lynch is a musician and philosopher living and working in Bangkok, Thailand. Roman and Nathan discuss Nathan’s early years in Cleveland, Ohio, the Pacific Northwest, Hawaii and elsewhere and his involvement with two bands, Skycheck and Irreality. Nathan goes on to discuss his move back into education where he studied to be an emergency medical technician and, later, obtained a degree in philosophy. Nathan then found himself in Bangkok, Thailand, teaching philosophy and playing a new style of solo music. In this podcast Nathan plays three songs, This is the Life Blood, The H Word and Friends. Nathan, Roman and the team leave the studio and go to The Siam Society on Asoke Montri Road, right near the Asoke and Sukhumvit trains stops. They check out the performance space and then look at the Kamthieng House, which is a mid-19th century Lanna style exhibit (currently undergoing some modification).

KUBA

Kuba joins the Roman Anton Podcast to discuss growing up in Rzeszow, Poland, his early days in the courtyard of his apartment complex watching the drying laundry), his family meals at Milk Bars, and about learning his true name from his passport at the age of 8. Kuba also discusses moving around the world to other cities, including an attempted around the world boat ride on the sailboat Nekton, getting the Best Catholic award upon leaving high school, and the successful pursuit of several post graduate degrees. He then turned his attention to art. Kuba shows Roman and the team several of his charcoal on canvas works, including, Madame Rzeszow, Kuba’s The Last Supper, Child’s Playground, and Mother Mary. Kuba and the others hit the road back to China Town, this time to Song Wat Road, and to the Tars Unlimited Art Gallery, the prior building of a Muay Thai training room and accommodation, where Kuba has previously shown his work.

NEMO

For many years, Nemo helped other people build their businesses while he built his own business, and in the process moved into an early retirement. Roman and Nemo discuss Nemo’s childhood in North America and then Hong Kong and then, later on, back to the USA again where each successive round of employment led to outcomes with greater and greater importance and significance for the people with whom he worked. Nemo is also a basketball fanatic so Roman and the crew joined Nemo on his first visit to the public basketball court in Lumpini Park. Roman gets tripped up on facts and misrepresents some sports trivia while Nemo demonstrates a superior knowledge of corporations and corporate structures. This podcast finds Roman and Frank behind the mic singing Frank’s song Maybe, with Frank on guitar.
